HURRAAAAAAAAAAH!!!

It's official! NO=53.4%, Yes=46.6%

Thanks to all the well-wishers from all over Europe who expressed their thanks on this thread (and here) to the people of Ireland. I'm so proud we stood up for all of ye who had no voice on this Treaty Constitution. I have to say that I agree with Lele from Italy:
They'll keep going on with their project but we showed Europe one more time that the people are against them!!
Today, at least, I feel we deserve to break out the bubbly! :-D

Update: Some thanks/congratulations messages received via email:
My heartiest congratulations on the apparent defeat of the Lisbon Treaty. The internet and the grass roots efforts by people like you made this possible. The story was the lead story on the news this morning as I woke up (BBC). People here in the US are mostly ignorant of this great day, but I think they will learn of it and over the years, people will look back on this day as a great one. -Andy
And...
Please let your Irish readers know their decision is greatly appreciated! -Gaia

A great result. The Shinners in particular deserve great credit for running a good campaign and getting people out to vote.

You gave the buggers a bloody nose.

YES! The victory for the comman Irish (and Europen Union) person has come to past.

However, I fear the battle has been won, but the war will go on.

Remember, like elephant's (sorry Mary) Brian has a long memory!

Good on Ye HG for all the excellent posting!
