The onus should not be on critics of current immigration policy to explain their motives. Instead, supporters of current policy must explain why they wish to transform the American nation as it had evolved by 1965....I'd like to rephrase those questions and address them to the pro-immigrationists and pro-multiculturalists (esp. native Irish ones) in this country :

In the eyes of the globalist elite who have no allegience to any country, the Irish are no different from the rest of Europe and America and Australia.
These white European countries are to be transformed whether we like it or not. We have no say in the matter.

It's white, as anon mentions above. We've been listening in the last few decades to American (white American) politicians wetting themselves with glee at the aided-and-abetted prospect of the U.S. becoming a non-European nation. Why? God only knows what's going on in their diseased minds, but they do have an obvious hate-on for the white middle- and working-classes. Our current colonizers (Mexicans, Chinese, ...oh, let's see, Indians, Somalis, you name 'em) are naturally happy to jolly them along in their greed and multicultural delusions, receiving carte blanche to have-at the carcass of the nation in return. (Hey, if dimwitted Euros are going to hand it over on a platter, who can blame 'em?) The question will be rich mining for future historians, though Occam's razor suggests greed, stupidity, and narcissism pretty much explains it all.
Unlike anon, however, I don't think non-European elites are interested in extinguishing their own nations. Graciously participating in whitey's "assisted suicide", on the other hand...
Every would be tyrant for at least the last 3 or more millenia has been a multiculti transformer. From the Persian Empire and Pharoah to our present times, the cult and cant have been the same. 300 Spartans died against being transformed by the multiculti Persian Empire. Why do they hate Ireland? What do they have against it? I reckon there's nothing complicated about it, they're just xenophiles, nothing more.
There's no mystery really, folks. There is a logic to all this. It's a ruthless logic. A logic that allows nothing for compassion or history. 'Cept, of course, when they are used as cynical weapons to "change" the country into one huge souless industrial estate. That's their great "vision", there.
Y'see multiculturalism makes money. It does finance our nation being flooded with cheap rubbish we don't need (while prices for neccesities sky-rocket) but the over-riding reason is that it provides for big business a very juicy under-class of cheap labour to beef up their profit margins.
There really is a certain amount of macabre humour when the left, totally befuddled by sentimental propaganda, cheer on mass immigration, what is really the modern innovation of the slave trade.
In joining the EU you joined an organisation with a specific aim of making its countries and their borders irrelevant. It's easier for movement within the EU to make smaller countries euro-hodgepodges - immigration into say France or Germany is likely to be a smaller proportion of their populations.
So - can you guarantee the survival of a distinct Irish country if you stay in the EU?

I live in Southern California and feel as though I'm being drowned in the current invasion and elimination of a former way of life. I have several South American friends who discuss the situation with me from time to time, but ultimately numbers will prevail. If good hispanic Catholics are having six kids, while politically correct college educated caucasian couples are having two kids, there's no doubt this country is in for a rough ride if we have expectations about stability. I find it so ironic when those who become established here mention their displeasure at how the new tenants feel little need to assimilate. It's clear, also, that the President has no interest in stemming the tide, since tax money will be short for the masses of retiring baby boomers without a massive influx of workers to pay those taxes. The elitists in Washington have all but washed their hands of the burgeoning ptoblem.
At least, the Westminster Parliament(good riddance to bad rubbish) is not setting our emigration policy. We have a choice(thanks to the men of 1916): imitate blindly every stupid thing the British Government does (yaay says R Dudley Edwards, West Brit, Castle Catholic supreme) or independently determine our own emigration policy.
People who think that Nationality is a 'social construct'(except for their own), find that living in a monoculture is intolerable to them and so they have to promote 'diversity' and 'multi-culturalism'(regardless of the consequences for the host population) so they can profit from the chaos that rival competing ethnic groups create.
