I do not hate any person or persons or peoples. I do not advocate hating any person or persons or peoples. If you read this site and come away with that idea then you have completely misunderstood what I have to say and I suggest you take another, more careful look. If you come away from this site and think "God, now I hate those [x-group of people]" then YOU have completely misunderstood the purpose of this blog.
The purpose of this blog is to try to foster an honest and open discussion in Ireland on immigration -- a discussion that so far has been almost entirely non-existent.
My own personal view is that mass immigration to Ireland -- to any country -- is not a good thing. (I'm not alone in this view, I think, as 59 per cent of people recently polled in this country want "much stricter limits" on immigration.) Other people have other ideas and you are welcome to post them here on this blog so that we may all discuss them.
I base my opinion on several factors including the facts that mass immigration usually does not bring much economic benefit to the whole society (USA, UK, France); tends to reduce wages for workers; and tends to bring about changes to the native culture -- either small or large depending on how different the incoming immigrants are.
Yes, different. Different groups of people are different from each other in aspects like temperament and intelligence -- and those differences are, in part, based in biology [see here, here, here, here, here, here, and here].
This is, I think, where some people out there start to think that I must hate other peoples. I assure you that I do not -- and neither should you. Life is not just (if you'll excuse the expression) black and white like that. Just because I recognise that someone is fundamentally unlike me doesn't mean that I must, therefore, hate them. That sort of thinking is, frankly, infantile.
Nor do I think that because there are differences between peoples that some groups are superior to others. In other words, as I have explained before, I am not a White Supremist. Such a position just doesn't make any sense biologically speaking.
Like other animals in nature, different sub-groups of humans have simply gone down slightly different evolutionary paths because we have spent rather long periods of time in different environments. Different groups of people have different traits because they are adapted to different environments. I wouldn't survive very well up in Tibet because my ancestors came from relatively low-lying Ireland and, so, I'm not adapted to high-altitude living. I probably wouldn't manage to have many children if I moved to Tibet. That doesn't make a woman from Tibet superior to me -- just different.
Some commenters/emailers have suggested (or implied) that this blog must somehow be a hate site because a certain White Supremist site is linking to me -- the aul' "guilt by association" conclusion. Well that is also nonsense. An Irish Tory links to me -- does that make me a "Tory"? No. John Derbyshire @ the National Review recently linked to me -- does that make me an English-American conservative? No. And, heaven knows why, but "Paolo in Dublin" links to me [NSFW] -- does that mean I have a spanking festish? No! (No, really -- no!!)
I do understand, though, that many people out there do hate other peoples -- with a passion. From what I can see, this usually happens when two or more groups are thrown together in less than optimal conditions -- i.e. when there is competition over resources. Hatred of the other is, sadly, part of human nature and unleashing that hatred can bring about terrible consequences. Of all the peoples of Europe, you think those of us in Ireland would understand this the best! We've had 400+ years of hatred and fighting between different groups -- all over a tiny little corner of a tiny little island in Europe.
Europeans spent most of the twentieth century separating themselves from one another which led, eventually, to some relatively peaceful and prosperous times. Why our so-called leaders in Ireland and Europe should now work on shuffling everybody up again is beyond me! If there's anyone you should be really annoyed at (but still not hate!) it's our politicians.
Let them know what you think! If you don't like what they're up to, vote them out of office! Vote down the Lisbon Treaty 2.0 if it comes to that. Email them. Ring them up. Give them a piece of your mind!

I am, then, a race realist; but I am not a supremist or racist of any sort. Nor do I advocate that anybody should be a racist. Just because people are different from one another does not mean that we should treat each other differently. The first issue is a question of basic biology -- the second is an ethical question. We are all humans and should all be treated with the same respect and dignity that is due every human being.
Treating everyone with dignity does not, however, include opening up our nation's doors to unchecked, mass immigration. There are six billion plus people in the world -- are they all to be allowed to come to Ireland? To Europe? To the West? Other groups of people can be respected -- and even helped, if necessary -- while they are resident in their own countries.
We have a duty not only to aid and respect other peoples, we have a duty to respect and provide for our children and our children's children. Giving away their inheritance is irresponsible and we will not be thanked for it.
In 2005, Peter Brimelow @ VDare wrote:
The core of conservativism, it seems to me, is this recognition and acceptance of the elemental emotions. Conservatism understands that it is futile to debate the feelings of the mother for her child—or such human instincts as the bonds of tribe, nation, even race. Of course, all are painfully vulnerable to deconstruction by rationalistic intellectuals—but not, ultimately, to destruction. These commitments are Jungian rather than Freudian, not irrational but arational—beyond the reach of reason. In a similar vein, Vanishing American had this to say:
Leftists often say that conservatives are motivated by “hate,” because its recognizing these loyalties tacitly implies, by definition, that these loyalties have limits. But the truth is that conservatism is motivated by love. [link]
I would like to find a way to get across to people that it isn't about ''hate'' but about a zeal for defending what is ours: our people, our kin, our neighbors, our homes, our way of life, our heritage. It's about loving and protecting and preserving all those things. It's about wanting the best we can provide for our own, and sometimes, like it or not, that has to come at the expense of others, others who are trying to wrest away what we are trying to hold on to. We can't all have what we want. Sometimes, it is a zero-sum game. It isn't about hate or "racism"; it's about justice and about boundaries and about protecting and defending and preserving. Ultimately it's about love, love for those nearest to us, and about placing them in the favored position. [link]I love my country. I love my people. I love Western Civilisation. I want to protect them and ensure that they continue on well into the future. That doesn't mean I hate other peoples. I hope that they and their cultures do well in the future as well. I hope for an ideal world where we all work together for the betterment of all peoples. It's a good-sized planet as planets go. There ought to be room for us all -- just not on this small Emerald Isle.

Of course it all depends by what you mean by 'hate'.
Multi-cultis cannot stand opposition. They cannot stand the idea that anyone could think that their precious beliefs are wrong and are not in accord with reality. Debate, to them, simply consists of everyone else telling them how right they are.
Opposition leaves them feeling choked with hatred; so any website that fills them with hatred is to them: a 'hate-site'!
Now, Hibernia Girl, hopefully I've clarified matters a little ;) heh heh heh
Normal people would know better.
Like I said: If you disagree with someone unwilling or unable to mount an intellectual defence of their chosen position, then you become a "hater".
This is an excellent site! fact after fact after fact. Keep punching!
This is my first visit to your blog (as a result of a google search about the Dungan site at Dingle).
It is good to know that your blog is not a hate website.
However in this debate it is necessary to consider outmigration as well, at least because there are so many Irish descendants around the world.
I will continue to read your blog and contribute with my points of view.
Martins: I will continue to read your blog and contribute with my points of view.
Glad you stopped by, Martins! I look forward to reading your comments. :-)
A very interesting, enjoyable bit of reading here. Thanks.
